Mr. Fumio Ueda was appointed as the new C.E.O as of March 28, 2008. The former C.E.O, Mr. Yoshimitsu Kifune, remains in the company as the Chairperson & C.E.O.

February 1, 2008 Acquisition of Hikari factory, for the G10 size glass substrate production equipment.

Our Hikari factory has been used since February in the year of 2004 by renting the factory of NISHIYAMA-SEISAKUSHO Co.,Ltd. in Hikari-city Suo Industrial Park. Asahi Kohsan acquires this factory on the February 1, 2008. It will be expected to produce flat panel production equipment, semiconductor production equipment, we will make reconstruction such as raising of the ceiling and increasing cranes for our bigger products. The new arrangements for the G10 size glass substrate will be strengthen the production.

February 1, 2008 Establishment of Gifu factory.

To extend the field of business, we have established Gif factory in Gifu pref.

March 1, 2007 The High speed sheet-feeding lifter and Slightly tilting air-floating conveyer for glass substrates appears on the market.

The High speed sheet-feeding lifter and Slightly tilting air-floating conveyer for the G8 size glass-substrate (usable for the G9 and G10 sizes) appears on the market. For the particulars, see the page of presentation of FPD production equipment.

December 8, 2006 The new workshop for assembling of Iwakuni factory was completed.

The construction was started in June 2006. The ceremony for the completion was held on December 4. The new factory was completed on November 10 and operation of it has been started on the same month the next day.

April 23, 2004 Hikari factory established for production of special equipment for flat panel display (FPD).

FPD production equipment such as the loader/un-loader of glass substrate used in the manufacturing of liquid crystal displays, plasma displays, etc., are manufactured at the Hikari Factory.

April 23, 2004 Loader/un-loader of for the 6th and 7th generation glass substrate of high-density cassettes is developed.

When the hand for conventional glass substrate was used, efficient extraction could not be accomplished in the case of the high-density cassettes for 6th and 7th generation glass substrates. Our company then developed the loader/un-loader which contains a conveyer type loader unit with a clean drive mechanism, making it possible for efficient extraction of glass substrates.
